COMMUNICATION

COMMUNICATION
What can be without communication? Almost nothing, the process of courtship leading to marriage cannot be successful unless the man makes a move through some form of communication to get the girl to respond favorably.
Passing knowledge or ideas among human beings is achieved through teaching. What is involved in teaching essential is communicating ideas, knowledge, experience, etc, to others to learn. Likewise, judges depend on communication to successfully prosecute a court case. If both parties in case enter and sit in a courtroom without communication no case will be heard to a logical conclusion.
In order successfully study mass communication, it is important to see it as a form of communication. Communication is an integral part of human interaction. It manifest in symbolic and verbal forms. All living things communicate but mans communication differs because of his ability create symbols ascribe meaning and interpret messages.
Communication serves as an instrument or vehicle of social interaction. It helps us to understand ourselves, keep in touch with other people, understand them and be able to predict their response to situations. It is a means by which power is acquired, exercised and sustained. It is the medium through which relationships are established, extended and maintained. It provides a means by which those in business, politics and other professions make decisions and manage people and materials.
Communication is the bedrock of modem society a most critical component of modernity and civilization. We communicate sadness or joy, disagreement or agreement, opinion or view, disapproval or approval, etc, in one way or the other. The point here is that we spent a better part of the communicating by either listening to people music or other forms of noise. We also read and write. In all these, we are communicating. Even when we decide not to talk, read or listen, we still communicate by the way we sit, dress, move gesticulate and by our expressions, attitudes and moods. Attempting a unification of these assembled pieces would allude to communication as me process of exchanging, transmitting, transferring, expressing or imparting ideas, sentiments, attitudes, feelings, meaning information or opinion between individuals, group or organization.
