URBANIZATION
Urbanization
is an increase in the percent (%) of a region or country’s population living in
an urban area. It is also the increase in the proportion of the population
living in the urban areas. It is the process of people moving to cities or
other densely settled area. Urbanization leads to urban growth and urban growth
is an increase in number of people living in urban areas
Factors Influences Urbanization
There are
three (3) conditions that must always be in place for cities to developed, these
are:
1. There must be surplus of farm products i.e. farmers
must farm more than enough for their own subsistence.
2. There must be a means of transportation
of these agricultural products where they can be processed into items of food,
clothing and shelter.
3. There must be sufficiently developed
technologies in the urban areas to use farm products and provides employments
of the urban dwellers.
